We are dedicated to hybridize fitness and science of the human body through knowledge and understanding of movement, sports medicine, nutrition, and human cognition to genuinely transform people’s lives and empower people to reach their full potential.
A movement that focuses on changing the game for you. When I first began I thought that fitness = health. Soon I began to realize that there is sometimes a huge gap between the two. BUT… there doesn’t have to be. That’s where our passion comes in. No short cut quick-fix, but the maximization of long term results. This happens by being given the tools tounderstand how and why you’re doing something, realizing that you don’t have to be in pain (andcan prevent it), and talking with someone that truly cares for you.Ultimately, I want to empower you to feel like you can conquer the dang world (because you can!).
These programs are meant to get you started down the right path. If you have questions about which one is right for you then reach out and I will help you choose the best one .
I started working with Kelsey when I was at a pretty low point. I was at the point where I was having more days with lower back pain than not. I was sacrificing gym time for couch time and if I did make it to the gym I would only focus on upper body to avoid adding in more pain. At this time I found out that not only did I have scoliosis, but I also had spondylotheisis. I figured I had two options. Option 1 was start figuring out if there was something I could do about the pain. Option 2 was say that I was just dealt a bad hand and lower back pain was just going to be my life. I went with option 1 and that’s where Kelsey came in. I had just watched her work with someone else who had scoliosis and they were able to do lifts without any pain. I figured that by working with her I had nothing to lose except the possibility to be pain free. During my consultation we talked about everything that was going on with my back and not only what I was looking for in a program, but what I didn’t like from the past programs. I needed someone who understood my specific needs. I needed something customized for me and not just a cookie cutter program sent out to the masses. What I needed was what Kelsey could deliver. Before we began with anything, Kelsey evaluated my three big basic moves (deadlifts, squats, and bench press) to see exactly how my body was moving and to get a feel for where I was at. After that first evaluation, feedback quickly rolled in and the program began. The first phase was relearning everything I thought I knew. Kelsey has me break down every movement and really focus on my mind in body connection. We worked on where my hips were during each movement. How I was breathing. Could I feel the movement in the right areas? I’ll be honest, at first it seemed silly. I was used to going in and lifting heavy so to lay on the ground and just work on breathing was outside of my norm. But I had faith and believed in the program. After the first week things started clicking. I could start seeing the value and point of some of the “silly” things I was doing. As someone with back pain and problems I couldn’t just go in and lift. Instead I had to be hyper focused on my movements. Breaking down my foundation and rebuilding it was only going to make me strong in the long run. And it wasn’t just in the gym. I was more focused during the day as how I was standing. Was my pelvic neutral? Breathing became a core part of my day. It wasn’t just a way to brace my core. It was a way to calm my mind and clear my head to focus (this was an unexpected added benefit as someone who is constantly stressed). Next steps was adding in weights and working my way to be under the bar. That’s right. I couldn’t squat or lift with the bar, only dumbbells, until I passed Kelsey’s careful eye of making sure I could do my movements as close to perfection as possible. At first it sounded daunting. Here I was again in the middle of the gym doing movements with little to no added weights. But I quickly found myself going “ok Kelsey I see what you’re having me do”. It wasn’t about me being able to lift a certain amount of weight. It was about me learning how it felt when my body moved correctly. I was building that muscle memory for movements. And trust me when I say that some days I was over it and felt like I would never be able to just “go”. I was always going to be stuck in the mental checklist I was having to do with each and every rep. This part of my training was also about learning how a full slow rep felt. Getting in the full range of movement. I learned that going quick and fast can cover so many sins. Now that I built my second layer of foundation, I was ready to pass my test to see if I was ready for being under the bar. I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous or excited for a “test”. I didn’t want to fail and feel like I let Kelsey down and all my work up to this point wasn’t enough. Hearing that I passed on the first time around was the biggest boost to my confidence. I knew I still had a long way to go but hearing that I was ready for the next level made all the days of feeling anxious but sticking with the plan worth it. Oh and the best part... I was now at the point of going through a workout completely pain free. My day to day life was improving as well. I was finally on a path that I felt great about! The next step was working with heavier weights and the bar. This was where all the small things started paying off. I was finally able to walk into the gym and know that not only could I have a great workout that pushed my limits, but I was able to be confident in my movements and still walk out of the gym with no pain. With Kelsey cheering me on and challenging me, I was lifting heavier than I thought I was capable of. I still wasn’t doing a quick fast rep to say I did it. It was all still slow and steady. Still concentrating on each and every part of the movement. There was still posture checks and corrections to my form. But with each critique I was learning and when I did a set with the only feedback being “dang girl that was actually really good. I have nothing to say.” my confidence grew even more. I am now getting to a point of correcting my friend’s form when we went to the gym together (I’m not allowing her to do “Instagram” posture anymore). I’m also getting to where I am super aware of how my body is moving and could refocus my mind body connection when I notice I’m feeling a movement, such as lunges, in the wrong place. Working with Kelsey has helped me in so many ways that I can’t possibly write it all down. I’ve never once questioned if working with Kelsey was putting me on the right path. Instead I’m thankful I started working with her when I did. The most amazing part of the story is that I’ve actually never met Kelsey in person. All the training we did was from 3 states away. Everyone in my life questioned how that would work, but Kelsey and I both knew that it could. We communicated through videos, text messages, email, and even FaceTime while I was at the gym. Distance is nothing when someone is as dedicated to getting better and when they find someone who is just as dedicated to helping them get better.
I was so impressed by the first assessment alone with Kelsey. She was so thorough with the assessment. Not only did she focus on my hip, but focused on my ankles, knees, and muscle activations in my lower body. She made sure she knew of any and all injuries I’ve ever had going back as far as I could remember! We covered things I never even thought of too like how I breathe and walk! Who knew you could do those wrong….well I was. I was doing both of those things wrong. Both of which were contributing to my hip pain.
You have changed my life in so many ways. I was so hesitant to join the group on Tuesdays and Courtney encouraged me. Once I did 1 session, I knew I needed more. So glad you offered the morning to us and beyond thankful to be doing one on one with you. The bonds we have built with our group is priceless and you are pretty amazing!! Thanks for being so humble and down to earth.
Kelsey came to our work on Tuesdays, starting in January and she has been such a blessing to our work environment. Kelsey was challenged with all kinds of athletic abilities and she met everyone’s needs while providing a killer workout. Not only did we get stronger together, our staff grew so much closer on a personal level. We look forward to our workouts together. No, we LOVE working out together!
Your genuine interest in helping bring out the best in people is evident in EVERYTHING you do! You are always positive and encouraging in your words and actions. You have the perfect balance of pushing us to our edge and cheering and supporting us as we push ourselves physically and emotionally to be better! I love how you go above and beyond just the physically aspect and give us challenges to be better our everyday lives (drink more water, practice gratitude, etc.)
These workouts have literally changed my life and I’m not even blowing smoke! I have more energy, I’m sleeping better, I just feel better! It’s funny cause it’s not physically either I feel myself in a better mood, not as stressed, and trust me I’m an anxious person! And losing some pounds is an added bonus!
She legit cares about you and how your body is transforming. I would ask her questions at random times of the day and she would always answer back. Without a doubt one of the best experiences I have had with any sort of trainer! Within a week I could already see a change in my mid section. If things aren’t going the way you want them to, she will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your results! She does not do the same thing for every person she trains, it is customized for you, which just shows how much time she puts into your training.
Kelsey Lensman, what do I have to say about her? The question is how much time do you have. I ask that you take the time out of your day to read this and to give my story a chance, so that maybe this girl can change your life one day the way she changed mine.
One of my favorite things about Kelsey is her understanding and her passion. Not once have I ever been afraid to be honest about my mistakes, about missing a workout or not hitting my macros because she understands and helps talk me through it. Every single conversation I have wth Kelsey leaves me with a new fire and motivation because thats the effect she has on people.
I am so grateful for everything Kelsey has done and for the ways she has pushed me mentally and physically over the last year that I have known her but I know that her impact on me is causing ripples, ripples on my entire life and those I have the opportunity of influencing as well. I never imagined for myself a life where I could go a day without being in pain, but now that is my reality. I am excited for my next competition season and for my life in general because I am capable and I am unstoppable.
The decision to work with Kelsey is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I was hesitant at first, primarily because I don’t like to get close to people and let them in to my thought process, and my day-to-day life, but with Kelsey it was easy. She doesn’t care only about your fitness, and how your nutrition and training is going. She cares about the WHOLE PERSON- which is rare nowadays with coaches. She is supportive and encouraging and loves to see you succeed.
In a last ditch effort to try (yet again) another program to get in shape and lose weight, I reached out to Kels. Luckily, this was the best decision I’ve made for myself in 2018. After 3 months of working with Kelsey, I am finally close to reaching my goals, if not surpassing them. Her program answers all of the questions that I’d been asking for so long: what muscle groups should I workout together? How often should I do cardio? When should I eat? How much should I eat? I now walk into the gym feeling confident with a plan in hand. The variety in the workouts allows me to challenge myself in new ways while keeping me motivated. On top of the awesome programming, Kelsey makes it clear that she’s with you every step of the way.
She brings people together to motivate and push each other, making it such a positive and energetic environment. So if anyone is ever curious or questioning whether to come out and work out with Kelsey, take a chance and try it. It doesn’t matter what you look like or how much weight you can lift, there are no judgments. Not only will you have an awesome workout, but you’ll meet some awesome people and realize you’re capable of more than you thought.
Kelsey is the most positive and uplifting person I have ever trained with. She is always there if you just need to talk to someone along the process. She is so dedicated to what she does and puts her full heart into making sure you reach the goals you desire. Her workouts will definitely put you up for a challenge, but the hard work she pushes you to do pays off in the end. Her ability to push people to be their best and succeed in the weight room is astonishing.
After 16 weeks of Kelsey workouts and nutritional guidance, I finally felt comfortable in my body. I have always been critical of my body image but for once in my life, I felt comfortable and I can’t thank Kelsey enough for helping me get there. Kelsey is one amazing person who is doing big things and is one of the most passionate people I have ever met. I honestly can’t think of a single flaw in Kelsey as a person or in her business!
To change someone’s life is a pretty bold statement but the proof is, me meeting with Kelsey. One day, one of my friend dragged me to Kelsey’s group workout. He showed me her workout videos and I didn’t want to go, not even a little bit because I was terrified. I said, “I do NOT belong there!”, “There is NO way I can do those workouts.” And “I am not strong enough for this.” I ended up going to her group workout with my friend, but when I walked in there I really regretted my decision. I was scared. I felt so out of that world. But guess what? I’ve been working out with her and following her workouts since that day! Crazy right?
I’m sitting down here right now at my computer with my calendar staring back at me on the table to my left. There’s a pen, a highlighter, and my phone that has...
